My family thanks you for your prayers and condolences. My mother passed away on Sunday September 14 after a long battle with cancer. Everyone’s love and concern has made the difficult time much more manageable.

Mid-Quarter Grade Reports:
Wednesday September 24

A teacher may choose to send your child a progress report during the fourth or fifth week of the quarter (see school calendar for exact dates). These reports serve to inform the parents of student progress at this point. They may indicate a lack of effort and achievement as well as improvement in studies. Teachers are required to send progress reports to any student with an average below a C- at mid-term. If a student falls below a C- after this time and a D or F will be earned for a particular quarter, a teacher is required to inform the parent as soon as possible by another means e.g. telephone. Progress reports will typically be sent home in the weekly packet and are to be returned along with the packet on Thursday.

Playground: Progress

Rain may have slowed down the work force for one week…but our crew of workers (coordinated by the Parents and Friends organization) took a huge step forward on Saturday September 20. Huge amounts of dirt were moved, equipment was assembled, cement foundations were installed…and the project is well underway. Our thanks to the many volunteers (under the direction of Tim Werner) who are (literally) moving heaven and earth to get the job done for our children!

October Liturgical Events: Update

We will be having a number of special liturgies and events…

Friday October 3: Guardian Angels & St. Francis/ Mass & Blessing of pets follows mass; please be aware of extra time that is needed, Mass will be held outside/ weather permitting/ beginning at 8.10 am.

Tuesday October 7: Mass for upper grades in the morning; Living Rosary for all at 2.15 (guests are welcome!!)

Tuesday October 14: Grandparents & Friends Day/ All-school mass and special schedule. Please see special “reservation form” provided by Parents & Friends organization (included with the Wednesday folder). Reminder: students may invite a grandparent, other relative, or a friend of the family. They may also “pair up” with another student. Mass: 8.10-9.10 am; Continental breakfast: 9.10-10 am. Please call the school office (628-7395) and let us know if any special seating accommodations are needed.

Wednesday October 15: Diocesan respect Life Mass/ Hosted by HT; Grades 5-8 will attend (note: this is a change from the usual order of who attends mass!)
